If you find yourself in Japan in the middle of December until January, you have to hit the malls! You’ll be surprised to find lots of items — even the most expensive ones — at ridiculously affordable prices. It’s also during New Year’s Day when shops sell fukubukuro (lucky bags) with mystery items that are oftentimes worth so much more than the price these fukubukuro sell for. So even if you shell out so much, you know you’ll be getting a great deal with whatever’s inside.
