When it comes to anmitsu — a dessert which traditionally includes anko, agar jelly, mochi, chestnuts, sweet beans, fruits and boiled peas with a side of sweet black syrup as a topping — you will find the best ones in the shops in Ueno. Among all of them, Mihashi is the most popular. Its ingredients are all homemade and the menu is comprised of a wide variety of anmitsu to choose from depending on your taste. A must-try is the Cream Anmitsu which has boiled beans, gelatin cubes, different fruits with sweet syrup, and vanilla soft-serve.
