First things first — it’s not an actual floating restaurant. Bulawan Restaurant is simply surrounded by a fish pond making it look and feel like it’s floating on water. Trees line the shore offering a cool breeze for restaurant-goers any time of day. Dining is also al fresco making it safer for everyone during the pandemic.

The menu

You can order fresh seafood and vegetables from the extensive menu. There’s alimango, tilapia, salmon, and more. Their Fiesta Inihaw feast is a combination of tilapia, bangus, hito, pusit, porkchop, along, and okra — quite a feast! Check out their delicious Adobo sa Gata Hito and Crispy Noodles while you’re at it too. For a family of four, expect to shell out about P800 to P1,000 for a sulit meal.

Fishing time!

After you’ve had your meal, you can go ahead and grab a bamboo rod for free. Fish baits can be bought for P25 and whatever creature of the pond you catch, you have the option of bringing it home. Who would turn down the offer of fresh fish? You can also rent a boat for P100.

Bulawan Floating Restaurant is located in Manila East Road, Pililla, Rizal. It’s almost a two-hour ride from Metro Manila but you can also visit other Rizal nearby attractions (Pililla Windmill Farm, Pinto Art Museum) to make your time worthwhile.
