Any John Carpenter fan will recognize this lighthouse from the 1980 creeper The Fog. It’s where the first sighting of the ghost took place and it’s also where the remote fictional town of Point Antonio is seen being swallowed by a thick blanket of fog. Located in the damp and naturally misty coast of Marin County in northern California, the lighthouse, as well as its surrounding areas, is open to visitors.
