A baked flatbread topped with sesame seeds, shao bing is delicious in all its simplicity. It’s a popular breakfast food (hey, even the KFC in Taiwan has shao bing in their breakfast menu!) that can be paired with fried eggs or salad. It’s also commonly stuffed with youtiao (shao bing youtiao) to make the quintessential Taiwanese breakfast.
Where to get it: Shao bing is widely available in Taiwan, especially in breakfast joints.
