If you’re looking for remnants of western influence in Japan, look no further than Nagasaki’s Glover Garden. The complex includes structures the government recognizes as Important Cultural Properties, some of which are the Glover Residence, Alt House and the Ringer House. The industrialist Scotsman Thomas Blake Glover played an important role in the country’s industrialization just before and during the start of the 20th century.
